THE OBSIDIAN STANDARD
Every batch is tested by the manufacturer. Every batch is independently verified by an accredited U.S. laboratory. Only then does it earn the Obsidian name.

Manufacturer Testing
Every batch arrives with the manufacturer's own analysis. It's where verification starts, not where it ends.
Independent Verification
Samples from each batch go to ACS Peptide Testing Labs, an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited U.S. laboratory, for independent analysis. Their results are held to the same standard as the manufacturer's. Neither report is accepted alone.
The Obsidian Name
The Obsidian name goes only on batches where the independent results confirm the specification. Anything that falls short doesn't enter the collection.
WHAT IS TESTED
Identity. Mass spectrometry confirms that the compound in the vial is the compound on the label.
Purity. Liquid chromatography with UV detection measures the share of the sample that is the target compound, reported as a percentage.
Blends. Each component is identified on its own, and its share of the blend is reported by UV peak area.
Every analysis is performed using LCMS-UV instrumentation and documented on the batch's Certificate of Analysis.
THE CERTIFICATE OF ANALYSIS
Every order ships with the batch record and Certificate of Analysis for the batch inside the vial. Reading one takes four checks. The batch number on the certificate should match the batch number on the vial. The purity result should be reported as a percentage. The testing laboratory should be named, with its address and the signature of its lab director. The report date should come after the batch was produced.
STORAGE STANDARDS
Most compounds in the collection are supplied as lyophilized powder, a freeze-dried form chosen for stability. Research materials should be stored refrigerated and kept away from light and moisture.
